Mark A. Kuriata, D.O., FAOCD
Dr. Kuriata brings highly specialized knowledge in medical, surgical, and cosmetic skin care to Southwestern Michigan. After completing his dermatology residency in 1999, Dr. Kuriata came to St. Joseph, Michigan to begin work as a dermatologist, and started Advanced Dermatology. Dr. Kuriata has added qualifications from the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology in Mohs Micrographic Surgery for the treatment of skin cancers. By utilizing this technique, Dr. Kuriata is able to effectively remove skin cancers with a low rate of recurrence, and is skillfully trained in minimizing the amount of scarring that results from this type of surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Kuriata enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children, fishing, watching movies, and playing the drums.

Johanna E. Killian, PA-C
Johanna Killian, or "Joh" as her friends and patients know her, graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2000 and practiced Primary Care for three years. It was during that time that she realized her love for dealing with skin and skin conditions. In 2003 she joined the staff of Advanced Dermatology. Her surgical, general dermatology and cosmetic experience comes from intense on the job training. She has also taken many hours of specific classes to increase her knowledge and skills, including botox injections, cosmetic filler injections, sclerotherapy, chemical peels, and treatment with our wide variety of lasers. At Advanced Dermatology Joh enjoys working with the team of great professionals on staff to truly help people with their skin.

Debbie Groda, PA-C
Debbie Groda works as a Physician's Assistant at Advanced Dermatology, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience working in the medical industry. After studying at Western Michigan University for her Master's of Science, Physician Assistant degree, Debbie spent time working in Internal Medicine before joining our practice. At the office, Debbie mainly treats medical skin care conditions, and sometimes assists with cosmetic and surgical cases. Debbie enjoys helping her patients treat their acne, however she is quick to point out that she loves all aspects of her job as well. In her spare time Debbie enjoys skiing and going to the beach (always with her sunscreen handy, of course).

Juan Galvan, MSN FNP-BC
Juan Galvan, Nurse Practitioner. During his more than 20 years of experience in the US Navy, Juan Galvan had a wide array of experiences that lead to his focus on becoming a nurse practitioner. After studying at Texas A&M and working in Corpus Christi, TX and South Bend, IN, Juan came to Advanced Dermatology in 2008. As a Nurse Practitioner, Juan can diagnose and treat a wide range of medical skin care problems and loves that his job allows him to engage in helping so many people. Outside of the office, Juan enjoys playing golf, target shooting and spending time with his family.

Kelly Ross is Advanced Dermatology's own cosmetic aesthetician who brings with her over 15 years of industry experience. After being trained at Twin City Beauty College, Kelly completed additional courses which taught her how to operate and utilize lasers and other devices for cosmetic treatments. In addition to being certified to provide cosmetic treatments Kelly can also offer skin care recommendations for patients who are seeking to find high quality products that offer optimal results. Overall Kelly enjoys working at Advanced Dermatology because it provides her with the opportunity to help people feel good about themselves and because she simply loves what she does.
